FIJI AIRWAYS // PROACTIVE IDEA - LITTER BUGS

Fiji has a big problem with the locals littering. Despite on going government campaigns about the proper disposal of rubbish and on the spot fines and even imprisonment, the message isn’t getting through.

When people are driving, they tend to just throw their garbage straight out the window, onto the side of the street. To help solve this, let’s gamify the disposing of rubbish correctly in a garbage bin, by tapping into the local love of Rugby. Because if there’s one thing Fijian people love and care about, it’s rugby.

So we’ll provide free car bin bags in the shape of rugby balls to the locals. They can keep these bags in their car and use them to fill with their rubbish. Once their bag is full, the fun begins. The bag transforms into a rugby ball and can be disposed of in specially made bins with a target painted on the outside. The bins will be placed outside service stations and will be branded with the national Rugby 7s team.

The game will challenge people to use their rugby skills to get their garbage rugby ball bag into the bin via the small hole to win prizes. It’s a game of skill which will get locals excited about taking care of the Fijian environment.
